About Derek Trucks

Blues Rock

Acclaimed slide-guitar virtuoso blends blues, rock, and Southern soul into a fluid, improvisational sound that has defined modern blues-rock since the early 2000s. His work with the Allman Brothers Band and the Tedeschi Trucks Band showcases soaring melodic lines and a distinctive tone. Renowned for marathon live sets, Trucks delivers dynamic solos that weave through extended jams, earning a reputation as a must-see concert draw. His performances often feature seamless interplay with vocalist Susan Tedeschi and a rotating roster of seasoned musicians, creating a communal, high-energy atmosphere. The guitarist’s most recent appearance was at Buddy’s Got the Blues 90th Birthday Concert on Oct 1, 2026, sharing the stage with Eric Clapton and John Mayer. No solo tour dates have been announced, and he remains without a scheduled run of his own shows.
