About Portishead

Alternative Rock

English trip-hop trio known for brooding beats, haunting vocals and cinematic sampling, Portishead helped define the mid-1990s Bristol sound with a blend of jazz-inflected melodies and gritty electronic textures. Their live shows are rare events, prized for atmospheric lighting and immersive soundscapes, and the band has a history of long hiatuses between touring cycles. At present the group has no announced concerts, no ticketed dates and no recent release activity, leaving their touring status inactive.
