About Talking Heads

Post-Punk

New wave pioneers Talking Heads emerged in the late 1970s, blending art-rock, funk, and avant-garde pop with angular guitars and David Byrne’s distinctive vocal delivery. Their studio work is marked by quirky lyrics, rhythmic experimentation, and a tight, dance-able groove that helped define the post-punk era. Live, the group earned a reputation for inventive stagecraft, tight musicianship, and an ability to translate studio complexity into energetic performances, often incorporating visual art and improvisation. Talking Heads have not announced any new tour dates; the most recent public activity includes Jerry Harrison’s 50 Years of Talking Heads set at Sound Summit on September 12, 2026, and online chatter about a possible 2026 tour, but no official schedule has been released.
