About The Get Up Kids
Midwest-origin emo pioneers, The Get Up Kids helped define the late-1990s emo-pop sound with jangly guitars, earnest vocals, and melodic hooks. Their early work blended pop-piercing energy with heartfelt lyricism, cementing a legacy that influences modern indie and emo acts. Known for high-energy shows and a devoted fanbase, the band built a reputation for tight, emotionally charged performances that often turn small venues into communal sing-alongs. After a recent series of support dates with The Format and a headline show at The Pageant in Saint Louis, the group has not announced any further concerts, leaving their touring cycle concluded for now.
