About Fugazi

Alternative Rock

Washington, D.C. post-hardcore pioneers Fugazi emerged in the late 1980s, blending jagged guitar work, urgent rhythms, and politically charged lyrics into a distinctive alternative-rock sound. Their recordings are marked by a raw, stripped-down production that emphasizes intensity over polish.\nKnown for fiercely energetic live shows, the band built a reputation for short, high-octane performances in all-ages venues, often adhering to a strict DIY ethic that kept ticket prices low and audiences diverse. Their touring history includes relentless early-1990s circuits followed by a long-standing hiatus after the early 2000s.\nAs of 2026 the group has no announced or confirmed tour dates and remains inactive, with members focused on separate projects. No new releases or festival appearances have been reported, and the band has offered no indication of forthcoming live activity.
