About Genesis

Prog Rock

English progressive rock pioneers, Genesis forged a signature sound of intricate keyboard textures, soaring vocals, and theatrical storytelling that defined the 1970s era of concept albums. Their early work blended symphonic arrangements with pop sensibility, evolving through the 80s into a more streamlined, radio-friendly style while retaining melodic depth. Renowned for elaborate stage productions, the band built a reputation for immersive live experiences, featuring elaborate lighting, costume changes, and extended instrumental passages. Periodic hiatuses punctuated their career, often returning with refreshed line-ups and new material. Currently the group holds no announced dates and remains inactive, with the last known live performance occurring during their 2022 farewell tour. No new releases or tour announcements have emerged in recent months, leaving the band in a quiet phase pending future plans.
