About Stephen Malkmus
Indie rock veteran Stephen Malkmus emerged in the early 1990s as the frontman of Pavement, a seminal lo-lo band whose jangly guitars and off-kilter melodies defined the era’s alternative sound. Renowned for witty, laid-back live sets, Malkmus’s solo shows blend his signature lyrical wordplay with crisp guitar work, earning a reputation for intimate venues and spontaneous setlists. After confirming a string of solo dates across California in September 2026—including a September 1 performance at Ventura Music Hall and a show on September 7—no further concerts have been announced.
